By way of background, Rowena was born on the Upper East Side of New York but spent her childhood living in several different countries before firmly planting her roots in New York. Her experience with global living, exposure to countries with varied levels of political and economic development, and her love for languages shaped her decision to pursue a major in Political Science and Spanish Literature from Bryn Mawr College. That combination precipitated a keen interest in Latin America and she went on to pursue an M.Phil in Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford. Fortuitously, at that moment Latin America was in a period of tremendous transformation. This led to opportunities in the financial markets with a focus on the region.
Initially, Rowena was focused on Latin American fixed income and sovereign research before moving on to work for a private consulting firm with a similar role. She returned to markets with a decision to pursue Latin American equity's sales driven by her interest in investment idea generation for her clients and the relationship management process. As a result of her institutional sales experience, which included capital markets transactions, corporate access and idea generation. Rowena genuinely appreciates and understands the investment process as it applies to capital markets. In the process, she is keenly aware as to how a home purchase or sale can be one of life’s biggest financial decisions; it too is a key asset class for many.
Rowena's global travels in earlier life shaped a fascination for homes, interiors and architecture. This interest quickly extended itself to New York, the place she has called home for two decades, but as importantly to the Upper East Side where she has lived since moving to this wonderful city. In addition to her explorations in a city that is always evolving and hence always finding something new, Rowena does the same on the UES with her two Golden Retrievers, who have fast become a great sighting for her neighbors.
