Buying or renting an apartment in Manhattan can be time-consuming and sometimes overwhelming. The assistance of a professional broker eases the process. A good broker is a coordinator and a team player. This is how Barbara views her role to ensure that her clients locate and secure the home they desire. Barbara was born in South Africa and was raised in London. There she began to develop her business savvy, first by earning a BA in Economics from the University of Westminster, then by obtaining an MBA in International Business from the City of London University. Her first real estate transaction involved developing land for single-family homes on The Bishops Avenue in London. In the 80’s, Barbara moved from London to Washington D.C. and subsequently relocated to the Big Apple where her first venture was to own and successfully operate a contemporary art gallery. Real estate remains a passion, and she cut her teeth in Manhattan real estate by buying, renovating and selling apartments. Currently she owns and manages a commercial building in Tribeca. Barbara has lived on the Upper West Side as well as in the Midtown area. She enjoys the diversity of culture, people and architecture throughout Manhattan. Over the years, she has experienced many of the city’s restaurants, nightspots, galleries, shopping areas and also raised a teenage son in the city. Finding an apartment building that allows dogs is becoming more difficult in Manhattan. As a dog owner, Barbara has developed an extensive database of co-ops and condos that is pet-friendly. She is pleased to share her knowledge with clients from all around the world.
