David Carter
CNE, Licensed Real Estate Salesperson
Brown Harris Stevens
100 Seventh Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

David is a full-service salesperson with a broad professional knowledge of the New York City real estate market from condo, co-op and townhouse sales to rentals and multi-family property sales. David’s attention to detail is the essential element in his success and his strong sense of responsibility to his clients is evident whether guiding them through the requirements of condo and co-op boards or representing his clients’ interests through the sometimes daunting process of a townhouse sale.

Through the years, David has developed a specialization in townhouse sales. A student of historic preservation, he began his career with a focus on homes in need of preservation and renovation, requiring the patience and thoughtful care necessary to prepare them for sale at their highest market potential. David has made a career out of working with clients to enhance their properties. By assessing the strengths and needs of each property and assembling the right team of painters, stagers, and contractors needed to add the finishing touches, David is able to market and show a property to its best advantage and attain its highest value.

Preparing a property for sale is just one part of the sales process and to augment this process David is proud to offer his clients the extensive and sophisticated marketing power of Brown Harris Stevens Brooklyn. Nothing is spared in the carefully designed presentation materials for each property from professional floor-plans and photography to print and digital advertising across the broadest range of media. David’s most valuable asset is a constantly growing clientele of buyers and sellers, affording him the opportunity for matching clients with the properties that fit their needs.

After a successful career as an art and antiques appraiser, David turned his attention to real estate; a profession that allows him to combine his passion for art and design with his fascination for historic and contemporary architecture. David’s interest in architecture began as a student at Loyola University in New Orleans where he graduated with a degree in Communications. David is also a graduate of the Christie’s Education, London, fine and decorative arts course. Born in New York City, David grew up in Connecticut and Southwest Florida, spending summers in the Adirondacks and Wyoming. He lives in Park Slope and his spare time is devoted to volunteer efforts at the Brooklyn Museum and Park Slope’s historic Montauk Club where he serves as Chairman of the Membership Committee and on the Club’s Board of Directors. David is also an accomplished painter and is in the process of restoring an historic Hudson Valley farm.
