Anthony Freire was born to a European family who had immigrated to America from Portugal. Although he himself was born in New York City, his family made sure that Anthony spent several months a year oversees to learn about life, poverty, and the wealth that is embedded in the closeness of family. It was there that Anthony learned to appreciate architecture in relation to culture despite poverty. His fascination for architectural historical facts is beneficial to his clients who (despite extensive renovations of their apartments) want to preserve details and charm of their historical homes. Anthony is the proud owner of Portrait Realty, a place that his agents literally call “Home”. Specifically created and designed to mimic a living room (even the chandelier is 40 years old and used to hang in the dining room of his childhood home), it was and is meant to create a community of agents who foster tight relationships with one another. The reason agents do so well and are so loved by our clients is because they truly like each other and help one another succeed. Prior to Real Estate, Anthony enjoyed a passionate career as a Television Producer. His credits include “The Maury Povich Show”, “Sally Jesse Raphael”, and “Queen Latifah.” Anthony Freire has lived in New York City for 14 years; first in the west village while attending New York University, and then in Chelsea where he originally attended Xavier High School. When it comes to Chelsea/West Village, no one knows it better than Anthony. Anthony is an expert when it comes to co-op purchases – having been on a Board of Directors for several co-ops over the last 13 years.
