Yaz brings a wealth of formal and practical experience to your table. A numbers man at heart, he studied accounting and business management at CUNNY. His first business position was that of an accounting clerk at American Express. He was promoted to Supervisor of Accounts Payable and then to Manager of Billings and Renewals for American Express Publishing. His knowledge base and practical experience expanded at HSBC Markets as Vice President of Financial Systems and was instrumental in their global accounting conversion. His entrepreneurial side emerged when he became a partner and a Value Added Reseller of an International Accounting Software firm; of which, he had offices in London, Dublin, and New York. He engaged sales and consulting services to the Fortune 500 and consistently traveled the globe for his clients. looking for change, Yaz wanted a career that would utilize his skill sets of accounting, systems, management, and sales. Yaz decided to venture into Manhattan real estate. He completed his study at the Real Estate Institute of New York and passed his exams on the first round. He began his new career as a residential agent for Nestseekers. Wanting more, his scope focused on the commercial sector of the business; in which, he created the commercial division of Weichert Mazzeo in NYC. His thirst for knowledge grew and he really leaned the commercial business while at Marcus & Millichap. He took the small brokerage of KVNY and developed it from a few person operation to 20 agents covering residential and commercial real estate. After several years with KVNY, Yaz decided to venture out on his own with Y Samat Real Estate. At the same time, he was approached by the Manhattan Association of REALTORS (MANAR) & the Manhattan MLS to head up their business development operations. Currently Yaz maintains his own real estate practice and teaches real estate continuing education at Baruch College.
