There’s something satisfying about a good deal. It makes you feel smart, savvy and that you came out a winner. That’s why we’re showing you three great deals currently available on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. These full-sized one-bedroom apartments can each be had for under $500,000. Yes, you read that correctly. Let’s see what you get.

230 West End Avenue, 8-F

This prewar co-op building, with its handsome brick façade, sits between 70th and 71st on the east side of West End Avenue. The one bedroom, whose ask is $465,000, offers a two-room layout with an open kitchenette. It’s perfect for a first time buyer or for someone looking to downsize.

The formal entry foyer (with closet) leads into a sun-filled home. Three side-by-side windows cascade eastern night across the living area (15’2”x13’0”). Architectural details include the original herringbone floors, paneled doors and a heavy base molding. The main room includes a small area set aside for dining, a generous sitting/entertainment area and the kitchenette. The kitchenette, which is tucked into the far corner of the room could use an upgrade. But the space is here to create something fantastic.

The bedroom (14’2” X 9’8”) is a bit cozy. Closet space is generous and includes a walk-in. The en suite bath enjoys a window and is clad in marble.

The building has a bit of cache in that it was designed by legendary architect Rosario Candela, There is a full-time doorman as well as an elevator attendant. Building amenities include a private courtyard, laundry room, bike and regular storage. The co-op allows for 75% financing.

255 West End Avenue, 2-C

This pre-war building is also located on West End Avenue and sits between West 71st Street and West 72nd Street just a few steps from the southern tip of Riverside Park.

This charming one bedroom has a separate windowed kitchen and an extended foyer. Think of a long hallway of your favorite pictures. The living/dining area (11’10”x17’9”) is a comfortable size and has a pleasant courtyard view. Three tall windows frame the tree-tops. The kitchen, while separate, opens into the living space. There is a full suite of stainless steel appliances.

The bedroom (9’7”x15’) has two exposures, east and west, and two small closets. The windowed bath is smartly finished in white subway tiles.

Building amenities include a full-time doorman, laundry room, and bike storage. Monthly maintenance fees are $1,764. The co-op allows for 80% financing.

257 West 86th Street, 10-C

Our third and final apartment under the $500K price point takes us a little further uptown. It’s located in a beautiful prewar building situated between Broadway and West End Avenue.

The current price on this one-bedroom residence is $459,000. At 700 square feet and an abundance of pre-war character, this apartment is by far the most visually pleasing of the three homes we have listed here. However, at the same time, the monthly maintenance for this residence is the highest of the three at $2,416 per month.

Tall beamed ceilings, a decorative fireplace and dark oak strip flooring combine to give this residence a calming aesthetic. The layout consists of a comfortable living/dining room (16’8”x18’8”), a windowed bath and a renovated industrial style kitchen. Closet space is short so you’re going to have to get creative with how you store things away. Think armoire.

The building provides an attended lobby. Amenities include a landscaped roof deck with Hudson River views, laundry room, bike and private storage. A big perk is a deeded storage room which transfers with the sale; this will certainly help with the lack of closet space. The co-op allows for 65% financing.

Apartment 10-C is being represented by Tami Shaoul of Corcoron. To learn more about this property please visit Linecity.com
