Apartment 4-M at 811 Cortelyou Road in Kensington is a generously sized  two-bedroom, two-bath home in a pre-war co-op.   The fourth floor corner residence offers a versatile five-room layout with wonderful southern and eastern light.

The apartment has a formal design with a spacious entry foyer (12’10”x9’5”).  The foyer can double either as a dining area or as a home office.

The residence features original oak strip floors, crown and base moldings and distinctive arched doorways off the foyer.  The foyer provides a nice pivot point between the living room (12’4”x21’) and the kitchen.

Both bedrooms provide ample space.  The primary bedroom (22’1”x11’9”) offers a corner layout and an en suite bath.  The adjoining second bedroom (22’x10’11) has two south-facing windows.

The eat-in kitchen (20’3″x7’4″) is spacious by any standard.  There is ample space for a full-sized table for four.  Upgrades include butcher block countertops and a mosaic backsplash.  Light streams through a south-facing window.

The primary en suite bath has been beautifully renovated.  It features white subway-tiled walls with a glass accent and a stall shower.  There is a window as well.  The second bath has also been renovated.

811 Cortelyou Road stretches the entire blockfront between East 8th Street and East 9th Street.  It sits caddy-corner to Ditmas Junior High School 62 and is located one block west of Coney Island Avenue.

The building rises six floors and contains 84 apartments.  Front door security is provided via a Virtual Doorman.
