The development will also include 180 square feet of community facility space. The plans call for 218 residential units. The average size of an apartment, based on gross numbers, will be about 672 square feet. The permit shows 109 enclosed parking spaces.
Cheskel Schwimmer of Chess Builders LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications while the architect is listed as Shmuel Wieder of S. Wieder Architects. The site is currently occupied by a one-story warehouse used by an international food supplier.
The neighborhood is serviced by the F train at the York Street station. The property is within easy walking distance to John Street Park which sits on the edge of the East River.
