Permits have been filed for an 18-story residential building at 27 Rockwell Place in Fort Greene Brooklyn.  The property is located at the east side of Rockwell Place between DeKalb Avenue and Fulton Street, just three blocks west of Fort Greene Park.

The proposed 184-foot tall development will total 100,652 square feet.  According to the permits the entire building is designated for residential use.  The plans call for 147 residential units.  The average size of an apartment, based on gross numbers, will be about 684 square feet.  The permit shows 29 enclosed parking spaces. 

Chesky Rosen of 19 Rockwell Place LLC is listed as the owner behind the application. The architect is listed as De-Jan Lu of DJLU Architect. The site is currently vacant.

The neighborhood is serviced by the B,D,N,Q and R trains at the DeKalb Avenue station, as well as the A and C trains at the Lafayette  Avenue station and the 2,3,4 and 5 trains at the Nevins Street station. The property is within easy walking distance to Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn Academy of Music and Brooklyn Hospital Center.
