Property Description for 1610 De Kalb Ave, 3-A

Upon entering into the renovated lobby of 1610 Dekalb you immediately know you are in an authentic Brooklyn loft building. All the accoutrements adhere to its industrial/Brooklyn vibe. From the exposed piping and double height ceilings, to the large artwork from local artist.

No expense was spared in the recent renovation of apartment 3A at 1610 Dekalb. This beautifully designed home features a chefs kitchen fully equipped with a wine fridge and exhaust hood. Both the kitchen and bathrooms have been custom made with Porcelanosa finishes. The custom built closets have been thoughtfully designed in order to maximize your space. During the renovation each room was fitted with a Split systems HVAC Mitsubishi unit. This stunning space doesn’t stop here; It is enveloped by a huge wrap around terrace with views spanning from Midtown all the way to Downtown Manhattan.

In additional to the large terrace, this apartment also comes with additional deeded roof space as well as a storage cage. The quality of the renovations paired with the amount of private outdoor space makes this home truly one of a kind.

1610 Dekalb offers a complimentary laundry room, gym, and tax abatement until 2032.

Today, Bushwick has not only become home to a thriving artist community with dozens of studios and galleries dotting its landscape, but was also recognized by Vogue as one of the world's coolest neighborhoods. Many New Yorkers will also testify that this neighborhood, the hip sibling of neighbor Williamsburg, boasts some of the coolest restaurants in all of New York City.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
