Property Description for 33 Fifth Ave, 7-AB

This sprawling and meticulous three bedroom plus home office on Greenwich Village's "Gold Coast" offers stunning views and unparalleled design. A brand new gut renovation features modern improvements while still retaining the home’s rich prewar aesthetic.

Enter the residence through a formal foyer, which leads to a beautiful great room. A wall of west-facing windows fills the space with light, commanding a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for dining and entertaining. The nearly 25 x 20 square foot room is graced with gorgeous herringbone floors and custom millwork.

The open windowed kitchen is a culinary masterpiece, complete with custom cabinetry, a large pantry, SubZero refrigerator and wine cooler, Wolf six-burner oven range, marble countertops, backsplash, and breakfast bar.

To the left of the great room tucked privately away from the other bedrooms is an exquisite master suite. The master suite boasts double exposures east and west, a large walk-in closet and two additional closets, custom millwork, and an en-suite bath. The en-suite bath is resplendent with heated marble floors, a double sink vanity with Lefroy Brooks faucets and ample custom storage below, as well as a windowed glass enclosed standup shower.

On the opposite side of the apartment, adjacent to the living room is a massive 12 x 15.5 SF bedroom with corner exposures west and north and a large closet. The equally large third bedroom offers a wall of closets and custom bookshelves with banquette seating, and a windowed en-suite bathroom outfitted with marble floors, extra long marble sink vanity with Lefroy Brooks faucet, and a tub/shower. In the hallway is a windowed third full bath complete with marble floors and sink vanity with storage and a deep-soaking tub.

Other noteworthy details of the residence include noise insulation in bedroom walls, original refinished hardwood floors in the bedrooms, five-zone heating and cooling system, vented washer/dryer, beamed ceilings, recessed lighting throughout, and a home office.

33 Fifth Avenue is a stately prewar cooperative located in the Greenwich Village Historic District. Residents enjoy full-time doorman service, live-in superintendent, common laundry, and storage.

Located on the coveted stretch of lower Fifth Avenue’s Gold Coast, this stunning historic architecture lends a serene residential atmosphere with the shops, dining and services of Union Square within easy reach. Michelin-star restaurants Blue Hill, Babbo and Gotham Bar & Grill dot the neighborhood, with Whole Foods and Trader Joe's both just a couple blocks away. Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
