Property Description for 3001 Henry Hudson Parkway West, 6-K

New to the market, apartment 6K is one of the four crowning jewels at the renowned Linden House. This rarely available 2 bedroom, 2 bath luxury penthouse boasts an expansive, private rooftop terrace with sweeping views of Northern Manhattan, the Hudson River, and the New Jersey Palisades. Spanning close to 2000 square feet, this special outdoor space is perfect for sunset entertaining, alfresco dining, and sublime relaxation.

When walking into the apartment, one is greeted by an elegant gallery space, winding staircase, and hints of other rooms to come. The large galley chef’s kitchen with period detail is outfitted in stainless steel appliances, an abundance of cabinets, and granite countertops. The adjacent dining room adds to the overall spaciousness and charm, setting a stage for the large sunken living room with wrought iron handles, oversized casement windows, dual exposures, and high ceilings. This spacious, corner unit is bathed in natural light throughout the day and features gorgeous herringbone wood floors, ample closet space including a large walk-in closet, and a spa like master bath with a deep soaking tub.

Set in one of Riverdale’s premiere, pre-war cooperatives, The Linden House is an iconic example of the architectural grandeur of the 1930’s. Building amenities include part time doorman, recently renovated elevators, an outdoor tennis court, sun deck, gym, additional storage, indoor parking, bike storage, and laundry. There is a full time super for the building and pets are welcome.

This majestic oasis is only a few blocks to the Spuyten Duyvil Metro North train station where one can be whisked to Grand Central in 25 minutes. In addition, local and Manhattan express buses (the BxM1, BxM2, and BxM18) stop right outside the building. Here in Riverdale, one can enjoy the best of two worlds; easy access to Manhattan and the charm of a smaller village. It also serves as a wonderful gateway to upstate New York. There are three great parks in the immediate vicinity, including the 28 acre, garden filled Wave Hill, fabulous restaurants, plenty of shopping and excellent schools. This is a unique opportunity not to be missed!

Spuyten Duyvil | Bronx

Quick Profile

Tucked away on a hillside overlooking the convergence of the Harlem and Hudson Rivers, Spuyten Duyvil (pronounced SPY-tun DIE-vul) is a quiet, primarily residential enclave. It is one of the most beautiful places to live, and yes, it is in the Bronx! Spuyten Duyvil is hilly, with outcroppings of the native dolomite bedrock of the area, winding lanes, and is heavily treed, almost forest-like in many areas. You will wake to birdsong, and may see smaller wildlife and the occasional deer. The neighborhood’s Hudson River shoreline offers dramatic views of the New Jersey Palisades, and if you look northward, you can see all the way up river to the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Although it has long been considered a retreat from the city for older people, Spuyten Duyvil is now seeing an influx of families and young professionals, moving north to escape the close confines and higher prices of the City, trading those for affordable housing in closer proximity to nature.. There are reasonably priced housing options, including co-op apartments, condos, and even single-family homes in colonial and Tudor styles. There are some high-rise buildings with doormen in the southeastern corner of the neighborhood. The most desirable buildings are the red brick mid-rise buildings along Palisade Avenue, offering stunning Hudson River views. Perhaps the most unusual building is the Villa Charlotte Bronte, a 17-unit co-op building designed to mimic an Italian villa.

The commercial area of Spuyten Duyvil is small, and largely confined to a strip mall-like group of stores on Knolls Crescent. There are a few restaurants that are frequented by residents and a smattering of grocery stores. Three sizeable parks in the neighborhood offer recreational activities and dog-friendly areas.

With a relatively convenient commute to Manhattan, Spuyten Duyvil gives residents the perfect mix of urban access with relaxed, suburban living. If you work in the City, or just want to spend the day shopping or sight-seeing, you can choose the Metro-North, express buses, or catch the 1 train from Marble Hill, just a quick local bus ride away. You can be in Midtown or at Grand Central Terminal in about 30 to 60 minutes.
