Property Description for 5 Tudor City Place, 402

Price Adjustment, Below $400,000 Now!! Brand spankin' new renovation, and the paint is barely dry. Aside from a few nights in the apartment by the current owners, no one has lived here.
The owners fell in love with this home's stunning northern and eastern light and breathtaking views of the UN, the East River and beyond. They also loved the charm, quiet and leafy, park-like setting of Tudor City. They were intrigued by its peace and tranquility just a block from the hustle and international sophistication of the UN and three blocks from Grand Central Station. They felt as if they were privy to the "secret handshake", one of the last remaining hidden gems of Manhattan.
And the building! Windsor Terrace is a white glove co-op with a friendly and attentive staff. The restored lobby is gorgeous and takes you back to the age of elegance. The hallways were recently renovated and are lovely. The building's amenities include a full time doorman, state of the art fitness center, bike room, storage, laundry room, package room and a convenience store in the lobby.
When these owners first saw the apartment, they recognized its potential and the value it offered. After its facelift, the Grand Dame now boasts CitiQuiet double-paned steel casement windows, a new HVAC system, brand new kitchen with a full-sized, stainless fridge, a brand new bathroom, hardwood floors and a brilliantly designed murphy bed which transforms into a loveseat. It will be the perfect home to a discerning buyer.
Pets, co-purchasing, parents buying for children and pied-a-terres are all allowed. Subleasing is permitted after 3 years of residency. Up to 75% financing is permitted. The 1% transfer fee will paid by seller.
There is a $18.75 a month assessment in place until March 2019. Heat, hot water and electricity are included in the low maintenance charge.
Welcome Home!!!

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
