Property Description for 207 Windsor Place

This gorgeous three-level brick townhouse, located just two blocks south of Prospect Park, epitomizes classic neighborhood Brooklyn. With four bedrooms and a flexible floorplan spread over 2,900 square feet, there’s plenty of space for quiet family time or lavish entertaining. The pre-war Craftsman-style home retains many of its original features, including hardwood floors, stairs and banisters; multiple stained glass windows and skylights; doors — one with beveled glass — and doorbell; antique mirror in the entryway and the timeless lamp in the living room. Emblematic of the Arts & Crafts movement, there is rich, exposed wood throughout, most notably in the molding and beams that lead you from the living room to gallery, through the dining room to the oversized eat-in kitchen. Here, you'll find ample prep and storage space thanks to abundant cabinetry and a walk-in pantry. The private terrace, perfect for grilling, and the large garden beyond provide the perfect backdrop for lively morning meals. A grand staircase, illuminated by a gorgeous stained glass skylight overhead, leads to the home's private quarters. The master suite, with its en suite bath and two sizable closets, is the crown jewel of the level with three windows catching warm southern sun. The three other bedrooms each have spacious closets and surround a full bathroom lit by another stained glass skylight. The lovely rear bedroom, an extension totaling more than 237 square feet, is surrounded by windows on three sides. The basement level is filled with conveniences and extra space. There's a large laundry room with full-size washer-dryer and a convenient sink, a powder room, several closets and storage rooms, and two large rooms suitable for use as a home gym, play room, library, wine cellar, craft room, or whatever suits your needs. Set in Windsor Terrace, the home is surrounded by the best of Brooklyn, including neighborhood favorites like Italian hot spot Tuscan Gun, Down Under Bakery offshoot Dub Pies, American classic Krupa Grocery, purveyor of Chinese treats East Wind Snack Shop and acclaimed yoga studio, Yoga Sole. The 585 acres of Prospect Park are practically at your doorstop, including the year-round greenmarket held at Bartel-Pritchard Square, and F and G trains are just one block away, putting the rest of New York City within easy reach.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
