Property Description for 990 Hancock Street

Presenting 990 Hancock, located in the heart of Bushwick, Brooklyn. Nestled on a tree lined street between Broadway and Bushwick Ave., 990 Bushwick's convenience is second to none, with everything you need mere walking distance away. The property was designed and built with space and innovation in mind, leaving the owner with limitless possibilities to arrange the area to their liking. Not a single square foot went to waste, seen by the customer shelving in the home work space beneath the stairs, the wide open family living area, the large bathrooms and kitchen and the abundance of storage space throughout the house. The resulting bright and airy design of the house provides for a comfortable and modern lifestyle. The large living and dining areas in the owner's duplex boast high ceilings, two beautifully restored fireplaces and a half bathroom. In the kitchen, German Nobilia cabinets provide ample storage atop a custom-made Caesarstone countertop and backsplash. The state of the art appliances installed include a Liebherr refrigerator, a Bertazonni stovetop and hood, a Sharp drawer microwave and a Miele dishwasher. The kitchen leads outside to a wooden deck with glass railing which overlooks the wood fenced garden. Built in LED lights will guide you up the gorgeous, custom made oak staircase to the second floor. The spacious master suite is paired with a bathroom that features individual vanities with custom custom mirrors, floor to ceiling tiles, a stand alone tub and a separate Japanese style bathroom. The rooms are linked by a large walk in with California closets. The other two bedrooms on the third floor also have California closets, ceiling fans, recessed lighting and a built in sound system. There is also a separate linen closet and a full-size washer and dryer on the third floor as well. Accessible by the owners only, the basement has separate mechanical rooms, a large half bathroom and plenty of space for a family gym or den. The large, two bedroom rental apartment was also given special care. A u shaped Caesarstone countertop with a separate pantry and fridge area make this a great income earning apartment. Camera security and stereo sound is wired throughout the home and garden, making 990 Hancock an excellent opportunity for a luxurious and modern home in the heart of Brooklyn.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
