Property Description for 112 West 18th Street, 3-B

It's extremely rare to find a spacious, stylish and private loft right in the middle of Manhattan's most desirable neighborhood - yet this classic New York City loft delivers all that, and more. Bordering the Flatiron District in a converted prewar factory building, this home combines the drama and space that make it ideal for entertaining along with the everyday comforts that you desire. The keyed elevator opens to a private hallway (only 3 units per floor). The apartment itself, with an expansive entry foyer that offers more than 30 feet of closets, welcomes you into a serene and quiet sanctuary. Turning the corner you're greeted by an open great room with original exposed beams, nine-foot ceilings and abundant natural light streaming in from the over-sized, southern facing windows. The fully equipped chef's kitchen features high end Bosch appliances, plus there's a formal dining area that allows for seating of 16 or more dinner guests. The king-sized master bedroom is light-filled and spacious with double wardrobe closets and is clad with original details such as a massive, ornate pillar and exposed wood beam. The home office boasts custom glass pocket doors which reveal a room as large as a queen-sized bedroom along with a custom, built-in closet. Also rare to find is the spacious master bath oasis, replete with character and Grohe fixtures, showcasing a deep soaking tub and separate shower. Rounding out the space is a laundry room featuring a full sized, vented washer and dryer and additional storage. This home can be configured as a 3-bedroom, 2-bath with two additional western facing windows. This pet friendly home comes with a private storage unit in the basement, included in your low monthly common charges. Amenities include a newly installed video intercom with surveillance, a common bike room and a full-time superintendent. The Brooks Van Horne Condominium is on the same block as the 1 Train and is 2 blocks to the F/M/L - it is also in very close proximity to the 2/3, A/C/E, N/Q/R, 4/5/6 and PATH trains, Trader Joes and Whole Foods Market, and the best dining, nightlife and shopping that New York City has to offer.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
