Property Description for 56 Walker Street, PH

The gleaming crown of Walker House, this three bedroom, three and one-half bathroom penthouse is bejeweled with a masterfully curated blend of high-end finishes, custom detailing, and cutting edge technology. With over 4,500 SF of space—3,444 SF interior and 1,173 SF exterior—spread across four pristine levels of indoor/outdoor living, this home is a testament to New York City luxury and thoughtful design.

The penthouse is accessed by a private-keyed elevator that opens into an immense, open-concept living room/dining room/kitchen that stretches over 1,200 SF of beautiful seven-inch oak floors. The dining room features a dazzling sky roof and has access to one of the home’s two terraces through a wall of sliding windows. The terrace faces south and possesses views of One World Trade Center. The kitchen is dominated by an island made from bookmatched Silverwave Marble. Dada-designed white lacquer cabinets balance out the dark countertops and a suite of Gaggenau appliances, and Dornbracht fixtures finish the space. It all ends with a sun-soaked living room featuring a custom tray ceiling with cove lighting, an ethanol fireplace with grand surrounds composed of bookmatched Statuary Marble, and access to a spacious 206 SF terrace with northern views to the Empire State Building.

The home’s bedrooms are found down a glass-enclosed staircase with an LED-lit handrail. The master suite is clad with a pair of windows equipped with motorized shades and rain sensor automation, a walk-in closet, and a separate library/sitting area. The five-piece ensuite master bathroom features bookmatched Silverwave Marble walls, an ADM freestanding oval tub, a custom double vanity with marble drawers and countertops, a Hansgrohe rainfall shower, and Dornbracht faucets and fixtures.

Down a short set of stairs from the master suite are the apartment’s generously-sized second and third bedrooms. The second bedroom holds its own ensuite—fitted with Carrara Marble hexagon mosaic tub walls, Statuary Veneto mosaic tile shower walls, and a custom wood vanity—while the third bedroom sits adjacent to the home’s third full bathroom. All closets within the penthouse are custom-fitted by Dada and can be tailored to meet needs and taste. Private storage in the basement is included.

Capping it all is a polished, 872 SF rooftop with a dedicated BBQ station—ideal for entertaining or enjoying meals rich with views—and a series of integrated touchscreens installed throughout the home by Bang & Olufson’s that will give residents unparalleled control over their home, covering everything from lighting, climate settings, and motorized shades and windows to the Bang & Olufson home theatre speaker system.

A convergence of custom design and technology, Walker House offers four masterfully curated three and four bedroom homes in the heart of TriBeCa, near restaurants, shops, parks, and public transportation. This boutique new development was designed by Jordan Carlyle and developed by Six Sigma, together forming a team whose foresight and expertise has reset the bar for luxury living.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
