Property Description for 170 Second Ave, 11-A

Beautifully renovated two-bedroom, one-bath apartment ideally located in the heart of the vibrant East Village, in one of its most exquisite Art Deco cooperatives. Combining functional modern design with charming pre-war details, this perfectly proportioned apartment boasts three exposures and commanding city views, including the iconic Empire State and Chrysler buildings and historically significant St. Mark's Church. Replete with 9-foot beamed ceilings, restored moldings, and hardwood floors, the wonderful layout is excellent for entertaining. The lovely entrance foyer with oversized coat closet opens to the expansive living room with space for multiple seating and a designated dining area. The large open kitchen is a chef's dream and features granite countertops, newly painted custom cabinetry, and top-of-the-line appliances, including a vented Viking range and oven, Sub-Zero refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher. Two generously sized bedrooms, both with unobstructed views and either of which could function as the master, are located off a private bedroom hall. The windowed and sun-filled bathroom with separate tub and spa-like shower is a work of art, lined from top to bottom with honed Beauharnais limestone walls and flooring. Given the large scale of the bathroom, it can easily be converted into two, with one bathroom opening en suite to the master bedroom. Recently installed new through-the-wall A/C throughout and terrific Elfa closets complete this not-to-be-missed gem. The entire apartment has been freshly painted, ready for you to move right in. From its striking lobby to superb staff, this sought-after East Village building has it all: 24-hour elevator attendant, live-in resident manager, private storage, bike room, and newly renovated central laundry room. Moments from the hottest restaurants, Tompkins Square Park, Union Square and convenient access to buses and subway lines, this stylish home is a rare find. Pet-friendly and up to 75% financing permitted.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
