Property Description for 68 Bradhurst Ave, PH-K

Penthouse K at the Langston condominium is the elusive three-bedroom, two-bath full-service condominium penthouse home with private terrace. Boasting southern exposures over a skyline view of Hamilton Heights and City College's neo-Gothic Architecture. This penthouse is a duplex with 9-foot ceilings throughout, as well as a double-high atrium living room that is over 18 feet tall with double-height windows. The unit boasts European White Oak strip flooring and Crema Pearl Italian marble in the master bath with Hans Grohe fixtures. The kitchen is equipped with GE stainless appliances, Positano stone countertop, Applewood veneer cabinetry and an LG washer/dryer. Double-paned windows keep the sounds of street traffic to a minimum and an intricate system of blinds allows you to manage the sunlight exactly how you want it. You'll have excellent closet space, including a storage space under the staircase. In addition, the outdoor space comes furnished with Crate & Barrel table, chairs & benches along with outdoor cushions and a sun umbrella. In addition there is a pre-installed Bose surround sound speaker system, including the Subwoofer; wall-mounted Sony XBR TV, Onkyo receiver and Netgear 5G router. The Langston Condominium set a new standard in the Hamilton Heights/Sugar Hill area for quality of life when it was built in 2006. That standard has continued to endure and the building has remained highly desirable. Located only two stops from midtown on the A or D express trains, building amenities include a 24-hour attended lobby, live-in super, resident's gym, laundry, courtyard, on-site parking (extra fee) and all the conveniences of Jackie Robinson Park and 145th St.

Harlem | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The neighborhood called West Harlem by the locals is known as Manhattanville to neighborhood newcomers. The area is culturally diverse and might be considered a microcosm of the city as a whole.

Columbia University has recently expanded into the area, which is attracting student residents from all over the world. Together with students from the City College of New York and young professionals fleeing higher prices in other neighborhoods, this influx of younger residents has brought with it more restaurants and bars on W 125th Street to serve this clientele. There are also new ventures, like a rock-climbing gym, to cater to the interests of these students and young professionals. At the same time, there are many small, family-owned shops and restaurants that have been anchors of the neighborhood for multiple generations.

The area has been through a housing upgrade, as older properties have been renovated and abandoned properties have been razed to make room for new development. There are still reasonably priced apartments available. Young professionals are finding that there is a certain cachet to living in West Harlem. It provides a convenient commute to the city and all of its amenities, while providing a sense of escape at the end of a long work day.

While rentals are popular with the student population, the young professionals are delighted to find pre-war brownstones, pre-war co-ops (including some income-capped HDFCs for lower- and middle-income buyers), and post-war condos that they can afford, although prices are rising. Some new low-rise developments, sporting virtual doormen and desired amenities, are cropping up.
