Property Description for 55 Vestry Street, TH-1B

This light-filled, airy and fully renovated corner 4,100 SF four bedroom is a palatial home and a luxury condominium. The home's three floors carve distinctive and beautiful living spaces. Enter through one of two entrances (lobby or private street) into the main floor and foyer. Here, you'll entertain on a grand scale with soaring 23’ ceilings, a sweeping Calacatta marble staircase and working fireplace which open to a designer dining room and kitchen. The kitchen features custom millwork, a professional island and state-of-the art appliances which include a Wolf six burner professional range with custom vent, 36” Subzero refrigerator and double ovens by Miele and Viking. Additionally, on this floor is an antique limestone powder room with custom shower and two ample bedrooms, one with an en suite bath, well-suited for guests.

Reach the second floor by staircase or elevator to find the master and fourth bedrooms, both with renovated en suite baths. The master suite includes a 22’ long luxurious custom millwork master closet with built in seated vanity. Bathrooms are outfitted in Waterworks fixtures.

The garden level is well-appointed and perfectly adapted for recreation with its extensive media and entertainment area attached to a 450 SF planted private outdoor garden. The garden level also includes a private office, wine storage, an oversized vented laundry room with extensive storage and folding space and an additional renovated full bath.

Uncompromising detail as part of a meticulous renovation completed by Hummel Builders extend throughout this home. The main flooring is finished in Versailles pattern quarter-sewn oak, bathroom tiles are finished in Walker Zanger and Ann Sacks, the closets are built with the care and luxury of a five-star hotel, custom millwork and metalwork abound. The entire home is remote-enabled, automated bliss: room-by-room climate controls, LED lighting, sound and shade systems. The Mitsubishi HVAC is newly installed and independent of the building’s system allowing for precise (and extremely quiet) temperature control on demand year-round. The home also comes with separate storage provided in the building’s basement.

The Fairchild is a full-service boutique condominium with a collection of only 21 homes and very low monthly costs, a rarity in today’s market. With the amazing success of several conversion and ground up condominium projects achieving north of $3000 per square foot in area, Northwest Tribeca has established itself as a very desirable downtown enclave. Great restaurants, shops and fitness venues are a short distance away on Greenwich Street and one can enjoy many outdoor activities at nearby Hudson River Park.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
