Property Description for 7 Hubert Street, M-9C

This Maisonette Townhouse at The Hubert - one of Tribeca's most prized buildings newly built in 2003 - is accessed either via a private vestibule entrance on discreet Collister Street, or directly through the elegant building lobby, providing the perfect hybrid of townhouse and full service condominium living.

The gracious entry off Collister Street - a charming and quiet 2-block lane - is through a secured vestibule that leads to the impressive double-height corner living room and dining room that basks in light all day long through enormous casement windows, an architectural signature of this brick building, and still one of Tribeca's premiere addresses. A large eat-in kitchen/great room across from the entry is beautifully appointed with Cerused oak cabinetry and Thermador and Sub-zero appliances. There is also a powder room on this floor.

The loft-like home with apartment and townhouse attributes spans three floors. An elegant stairway leads up to the bedrooms where the plush Master Bedroom Suite features large walk-in closets, a home office and a marble clad bathroom with a deep soaking tub, separate shower and water closet, twin sinks and oak cabinetry. Two additional generously proportioned bedroom suites with an abundance of closet space and an intimate den complete this floor.

Downstairs is a large recreation room with voluminous ceilings and direct access to the building. This space is perfect as a media room or playroom and also houses a bathroom and laundry room. The Hubert is a prestigious, low-key yet refined building with impeccable services and amenities including a full-time doorman/concierge, a gym, a children's playroom, laundry, bike storage and a garden, moments from the Hudson River Park, superb shopping, dining and public transportation options and all the charm that makes Tribeca one of the most desirable neighborhoods of Downtown Manhattan.

Note - 0.25% non-refundable transfer fee of the sale price payable to Hubert Street, by seller.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
