Property Description for 200 East 24th Street, 1903

Welcome home to this newly renovated, bright, top-floor apartment with an ideal split layout. This MASSIVE 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom co-op at The Crystal House is the quintessence of New York City living. Features include Mahogany hardwood floors, eastern and western exposure with Empire State Building views, a large windowed kitchen with high-end finishes, and an in-unit Miele stacked washer/dryer.

The home opens into a spacious foyer adorned with a large coat closet and then flows into a sizable, open-concept living room and dining area. The open galley-style kitchen boasts a pair of windows, breakfast bar, granite countertops, a subway tile backsplash, clean white cabinetry offering plenty of storage, and a suite of stainless steel appliances including a GE microwave and range, a KitchenAid dishwasher, and a Maytag refrigerator.

As a result of two apartments being combined, the home’s floorplan affords all of its bedrooms a generous amount of space and privacy. The two west-facing bedrooms have their own custom California closet space and easy access to separate full bathrooms. The palatial master bedroom lies on the opposite end of the home. It features a large reach-in California closet, an adjacent enormous walk-in closet, a huge window, and a pristine en-suite bathroom.

The Crystal House is a 19-story luxury full-service cooperative building in Gramercy. Amenities include a 24-hour doorman, a live-in super, a manicured rooftop deck, available storage, and a garage. The building sits just blocks away from Madison Square Park, Gramercy Park, Union Square, and the Flatiron District. It is surrounded by a number of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Nearby subway lines include the 6/N/R/W. Guarantors, co-purchase, pied-a-terre, and pets are considered.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
