Property Description for 320 East 42nd Street, 3012

Glamour. Award Winning Designer’s Apartment. Newly renovated and offered fully furnished, this one bedroom features a breathtaking city and river view with modern design finishes that nod to the building’s 1920s roots. Walls of casement windows with brilliant southern sun warms the rich hardwood floors and burnished cherry-wood cabinetry set the mood. The 52” black granite and Crema Marfil marble wet bar cleverly conceals a full working kitchen including a dishwasher. Sunshine also warms the windowed Thassos marble bathroom fitted with a crystal raindrop chandelier and glass enclosed shower floored with a single slab of one and a half inch honed Carerra marble. From the bedroom too, one can start and end their day with a view of the river. Subtle storage at every turn, custom built-ins, coordinated hardware, ceiling medallions, solid core doors, skim coated walls and thru-wall A/C in each room complete this reimagined home designed by Kittie Lonsdale of Lifestyle Space Design. This handsome building known as Woodstock Tower offers 24-hour doorman, common garden, laundry, storage and a fitness center off the lobby level. Located in the heart of a picturesque Manhattan enclave steps from the heart of midtown Manhattan, with a park at the doorstep and just three blocks from Grand Central. This Tudor home with no detail overlooked brings you everything life in Manhattan has to offer, with easy access for your weekend getaways. Monthly assessment of $146. Maintenance includes electricity. Pets and pied-a-terres permitted.

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
