Property Description for 823 Classon Ave, 4-A

Own your slice of Brooklyn at this perfectly located, expertly appointed 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with private outdoor space at The Prospect.

The apartment opens into a large foyer, giving plenty of room to kick off your boots and drop your bag. Left of the entryway is a full bathroom, complete with white marble countertops, custom white lacquer cabinetry and frosted window letting in lovely natural light while ensuring privacy. Beyond the entryway you’ll reach the kitchen, with its own large window that faces north and illuminates the space. Carrara marble countertops, custom rift-cut oak cabinetry, and Kohler fixtures give the kitchen a clean, modern finish. The open concept design allows the kitchen to overlook the living area, both with views through wall-to-wall windows that lead to the private terrace

The living area is designed for entertaining and relaxing with a custom TV mount, which the current owners installed, as well as custom in-wall speaker wiring throughout. Three full length windows in the living room lead to a large terrace, which can accommodate lounge chairs, a cocktail table, planters, and even an herb garden. The perfect city oasis to sit back with a glass of wine at night or a cup of coffee in the morning.

From the living room an opaque glass sliding door leads to the spacious second bedroom with wall-to-wall windows and a large closet. There is an additional entrance to the terrace from this room as well.

A hallway with two deep closets - a coat closet with overhead storage and a laundry closet with HE LG stackable washer and dryer units - leads to the master bedroom. The laundry closet has been updated with custom built-in shelving to provide additional storage.

Wall-to-wall windows on the eastern side of the master bedroom provide beautiful morning light. There is a large closet with custom shelving as well as custom built-in storage. It’s safe to say you will not run out of space for your clothes! The en suite master bathroom is complete with a walk in shower, custom glass shower door, marble counter tops, and open glass shelving.

The building has a terrific assortment of amenities, including a sky-lit gym, package room, virtual doorman and private storage. The most remarkable amenity of all is the common roof deck, showcasing incredible views of Manhattan, the NY harbor and the glorious Brooklyn Museum. The landscaping, beautiful furniture, and modern design all combine to make this feature a prime spot to take in the sunset, holiday fireworks, and city lights.

There is a real estate tax abatement in place until 2026, keeping your monthly costs low.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
