Property Description for 42 Lispenard Street, 4

Graced with an array of sophisticated finishes and over 2,000 sq. ft. of space, this pristine 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom loft is an elegant example of contemporary design set within a prewar frame. Features of this gorgeous home include an open plan layout, airy 11-ft. ceilings, 8-inch wide plank oak floors, a private keyed elevator entrance, a large in-unit laundry room, and a home office.

The home opens directly into the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Natural light pours into the space via a quartet of huge windows that overlook Lispenard Street. The Poliform-designed kitchen is equipped with Calacatta Gold marble countertops, a massive eat-in island/bar, dark wood cabinetry, and a suite of high-end appliances from Miele and Wolf. Lying opposite the living area are the home’s two large bedrooms. The second bedroom features a walk-in closet and is adjacent to an immaculate full bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a cavernous walk-in closet and a spa-like en-suite bathroom that has dual vanity sinks, marble tiles, custom cabinetry from Antonio Lupi, a Signature freestanding bathtub, and a large walk-in rain shower.

A classic cast iron edifice originally built in 1915, 42 Lispenard—the former home of beloved Manhattan art store, Pearl Paint—is a beautiful 5-story boutique condominium in Tribeca by Colonnade Group and Freyer Collaborative Architects. The building is serviced by a virtual doorman system and each residence has access to a private storage unit. Situated at the convergence zone of Tribeca, SoHo, Little Italy, and Chinatown, 42 Lispenard is surrounded by an eclectic assortment of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and galleries. It is less than a block from Broadway, and has easy access to the 1/6/A/C/E/N/Q/R/W/J/Z lines.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
