Property Description for 179 Monroe Street, 2-A

NEW PRICE!

This Sleek, Modern Condo has floor to ceiling windows and gorgeous light throughout the day. At 660 sq ft with 10 ft ceilings, it's light and airy and just a bit more spacious than many competitors on the market. With a TAXAbatement in place through 2033 you will also get more square footage for your money here because the monthly payments truly are LOW ($7.00 a month for taxes!)

The open kitchen features a nice looking grey stone counter-top and island, a full stainless steel appliance suite, an abundance of cabinet space, and a large breakfast bar- open to the living room that features a pretty Juliette balcony!

With floor-to-ceiling windows in both the living room and bedroom, the apartment is illuminated with natural light throughout the day. The bedroom is spacious enough for a nice Queen size bed as well as additional furniture. All of the closets have been suited with Elfa systems = so you can customize to your heart's content! The 4 piece bathroom is HUGE! With his-and-her sinks, as well as separate shower and soaking tub (my favorite!). Top-of-the-line LG washer & dryer in the apartment completes the package!

The building has a lovely common roof deck with an impressive 360-view, perfect for early morning workouts, afternoon brunches, and nighttime summer soirees. ?You'll never be short on things to do in THIS neighborhood! Booming with renowned restaurants, bars, shops, and cafs, including Sincerely Tommy, Stone Fruit Espresso, Speedy Romeo, Peaches Hot House, and C'mon Everybody all just a short trek outside your front door. Also, you have boutiques, grocery stores, citibikes (right on the corner!) and the many gyms close by. The YMCA (just at the corner) is a local favorite too- with amazing classes and an Olympic Size Swimming Pool!

Just a few short blocks from A, C, and G trains, as well as the Franklin Avenue Shuttle, and surrounded with some of the prettiest streets in Brooklyn.

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
