Located in the beautiful Fort Tryon Gardens 7 building enclave, sits this well maintained Postwar gem. Built in 1951, it exemplifies the brilliance of its day with contemporary architecture and modern design.

Upon entry, this sunny and quiet apartment boasts a stunning galley kitchen with full-sized stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, microwave, and granite countertops. The kitchen flows effortlessly into a spacious living room. There are high ceilings throughout with superb craftsmanship including smooth skim coated walls, floor to ceiling crown molding, and charming views of the courtyard from each window within every room.

A long hallway separates the living room from two spacious bedrooms. The first Queen sized bedroom has sprawling floor to ceiling shelves. The second King Master offers ample space for a bed, bedside tables, an armoire, or additional shelves. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and there is exceptional closet space throughout the entire home.

Amenities include a 24/7 laundry facility, bike room, private storage (fee), manicured garden, and resident supers and porters. There are two subway lines very close by; the express A line is on the same block, with the 1 line one block away, allowing for swift access to all parts of Manhattan and major transit hubs. Entrances to the famous Fort Tryon Park with the Cloister museum and dog runs are literally within a few blocks of the front door. This dream home is conveniently located close to all amenities such as cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, local shops, as well as the post office, and is the definition of sophisticated Upper Manhattan living.

Washington Heights | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Washington Heights, a hilly neighborhood on Manhattan’s northern tip known for its affordable apartments, preserved pre-war buildings, and Dominican food. Some would argue that it's a hidden gem and one of Manhattan's last neighborhoods that has retained its culture. The large swath of land is bordered by Inwood to the north along Dyckman Street, by Harlem to the South along 155th Street, by the Harlem River to the east, and the Hudson River to the West. It is the highest natural point on the Island of Manhattan.

Despite its high residential density, Washington Heights and Inwood have not seen modern housing construction in more than a decade other than relatively small housing units. Midtown Manhattan, Battery Park, TriBeCa, Chelsea, and Hell’s Kitchen, on the other hand, have seen an increase in building. Most of the high rise construction belongs to hospitals such as New York Presbyterian, Columbia University Medical Center, and educational institutions like Yeshiva University and Boricua College.

Washington Heights has access to amazing green spaces like The Cloisters, Fort Washington Park, Highbridge Park and Fort Tryon Park. There is no shortage of historical landmarks either. Remember General George Washington set up his camp in Washington Heights during the Revolutionary War. He used the elevated neighborhood to his tactical advantage to spot the Redcoats. As history would have it, his plan didn’t work out so well and the British occupied New York for seven years.
