Property Description for 117 East 57th Street, 39-G

The Galleria is a prestigious white glove condominium located off of Park Avenue. The building’s main entrance is on 57th Street between Park and Lexington, but continues through to 58th street. This full service building offers a large staff, including 24-hour concierges, doormen, elevator men and porters. There is an on-premises laundry/dry cleaner. The lobby is an elegantly designed atrium, from which one can access convenient food stores, a beauty salon, and more. In the building there is a state of the art New York Health and Racquet Club with panoramic views. There is a private lounge on the 54th floor accessible to condominium owners, tenants and their guests. The Galleria, being so centrally located, affords easy access to Manhattan’s world class dining, as well as to shopping and transportation. Unit 39G is a lovely, north-facing, quiet, bright and open apartment, having approximately 750 square feet, and having been fully renovated in 1995. In 1999 the heating and air conditioning units were replaced in favor of climate control systems. One enters a foyer, where there are two closets to the right and the kitchen to the left, this being accessed through louvre doors. The open kitchen has a unique and lovely country elegance; its counter height island allows dining for four. The finest materials were used for its construction, having a corian countertop, a Subzero refrigerator, a built in Gaggenau convection oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a stacked Miele washer & dryer. The bathroom and dressing area (having a built-in oversized illuminated vanity) are entered from the living room through louvre doors. The bathroom is in pristine condition, white with blue tile trim, and includes a toilet with a built in electronic Toto bidet and an oversized jacuzzi tub/shower combination (over six feet in length). From the dressing area, there is a door which leads you to the bedroom. The bedroom, facing North, and having a moderately sized window, includes two custom closets with ample shelving. With the exception of the kitchen and the bathroom, there are hardwood floors and track lighting throughout. In addition, there is a built in humidification system, guaranteeing a comfortable relative humidity during the drier winter months (also ideal for fine arts). The living room is large and feels spacious due to the panoramic view and generously wide 13 foot window. Full size photos are available upon request. This is a truly unique, lovely home. Midtown East | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Midtown West and Midtown East have a lot in common. They’re bustling, iconic, and full of people. But just like siblings, their personalities can be vastly different. Midtown East is a bit more sophisticated and doesn’t quite have the vivacity and unruliness that its westerly counterpart exudes.

Midtown East is bordered by 42nd to the south, 59th Street to the north, 5th Avenue to the west, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

The neighborhood is famous for its high-end stores, tourist attractions, posh hotels (budget ones too), and iconic architecture. Midtown East is also one of the largest financial and business hubs in Manhattan. During normal business hours the sidewalks are full of commuters and people moving from point A to point B. In the early evening, when the masses have left for the day, things suddenly get a little quieter and the sidewalks have a lot less foot traffic.

Although largely a commercial neighborhood, residential areas of Midtown East do exist on the eastern section of the neighborhood.

Grand Central Station is located in Midtown East and like Midtown West, it’s an extremely commutable neighborhood. The 4, 5, 6, 7 and S trains whisk people in and out of the neighborhood 24 hours a day. Grand Central Station also serves as a hub for New York State and Connecticut commuter rails. These trains can take you anywhere along the Hudson River or up into Connecticut. It’s perfect for day tripping.
