This spacious one-bedroom is set in a grand prewar doorman building located just a block

from the United Nations headquarters, but tucked away on one of Midtown’s most serene

enclaves, a quiet tree-lined block facing the leafy green expanse of Tudor City Park.

The sixth-floor apartment features a western exposure that overlooks the park, sending

in streams of natural light that complement the elegant dark hardwood flooring. The full

kitchen is outfitted with stainless steel appliances including a Liebherr fridge, Whirlpool

oven, Miele stovetop, LG microwave, large wine cooler and a dishwasher, as well as

ample dark wooden cabinets and sleek granite countertops with a tile backsplash. The

The grand dame of Murray Hill’s prestigious Tudor City complex, this stately Gothic

Revival building is known for its historic 1920s facade, majestic rooftop crown and

graceful lobby lined with stained glass panels, arched entryways, exotic rugs and oil

paintings. In addition to a 24-hour doorman, fitness room access, bike room, and shared

storage space, the building offers a stunning roof deck providing sweeping views of the

Chrysler Building and Midtown skyline. Maintenance included utilities; cats are allowed.

This tranquil setting is just steps from the many fine restaurants lining First and Second

Avenues, with all the excitement of Midtown just blocks away and nearby Grand Central

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
