Property Description for 100 Beekman Street, 19-K

Wake up to amazing open sky and FiDi views from this spacious 2 bedroom home located in Southbridge Towers! 100 Beekman offers a tremendous opportunity to reside in one of the most exciting neighborhoods in lower Manhattan. Apartment 19K is just steps away from the historic (and revamped) Seaport District as well as only a few blocks from the Fulton St and City Hall transportation hubs.

This well proportioned home affords many possibilities given its efficient and spacious layout. The kitchen can be partially opened up to create a loft-like kitchen/living/dining great room. The oversized 74 square foot balcony, situated off of the living room, provides a peaceful respite from busy city life. The World Trade Center, Woolworth Building, and Gehry's Spruce St are just a small selection of the iconic skyline you'll see from the terrace. The second bedroom has eastern and southern exposure, allowing for beautiful natural light and unimpeded views of the East River, Brooklyn, and Pier 17.

Both bedrooms are well sized, allowing for king beds. Five oversized closets are well placed in each room. Topping off the list of apartment attributes is an incredibly low monthly maintenance of $731 per month, which includes electricity and heat (summer A/C surcharge does apply).

Southbridge Towers' amenities include attended lobby/security, in-building laundry, landscaped parks & gardens, playground, playroom, storage, community room, and on-site restaurants and shops. Pets OK with Board approval. On-site indoor parking is available for an additional monthly charge (subject to availability). The building's location near the Brooklyn Bridge offers easy access to all of FiDi's amenities and conveniences. The South Street Seaport is directly across the street, providing restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. The 2/3, 4/5, A/C, J/Z and R trains are all in close proximity.

Seaport District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Seaport District sits between the Financial District to the south and the Brooklyn Bridge to the north. The original Seaport designation was limited to the streets east of Water Street from Fletcher Street to Dover Street and incorporated the actual Seaport and the piers. But no more. Today, the neighborhood boundaries have expanded westward toward Park Row and include a surge of new developments in the area around Pace University and City Hall Park.

This is not your father’s Seaport. It is no longer a commercial hub and the seafood industry, which operated out of the port for nearly two hundred years, has been displaced. The older low-rise buildings that line these cobblestoned streets have been repositioned, the SouthBridge towers complex to the east of Water Street has gone free market, multiple commercial buildings have been converted to residential usage and new gleaming residential towers are rising on the site of the iconic J&R Music World which once lined the east side of Park Row.

Still, the Seaport is a small neighborhood, particularly quaint just north of Beekman Street. The streets are dominated by century-old warehouses and maritime buildings which gives the neighborhood its overt character. The Brooklyn Bridge, on its northern edge, looms in the backdrop.
