Property Description for 25 Tudor City Place, 1505

UN-Adjacent 1-Bedroom with Stunning City Views: 25 Tudor City Place #1505
A 15th-floor corner unit blessed with a western exposure providing tons of natural light and sweeping city views, this large one-bedroom apartment is set in a stately prewar doorman building around the corner from UN headquarters. The convenient location in the heart of Midtown Manhattan is complemented by a serene setting on a tranquil tree-lined street, directly across from privately owned and kept Tudor City Park and Garden.
Newly refurbished hardwood floors run throughout the apartment while oversize, refurbished windows with marble windowsills in both the living room and bedroom fill the entire space with sunlight. The large open kitchen is anchored by a sleek marble countertop and a beautiful white design scheme featuring a long overhead row of white cabinets, plus white appliances including a full fridge and dishwasher. The bedroom’s southwest exposure provides particularly compelling city skyline views overlooking the Ford Foundation & Chrysler building, as well as the privately owned Tudor City Park & Garden. Unit 1505 also features a large closet as brand new marble tiles, chrome fixtures, new mirror cabinet, toilet, and is outfitted with an original cast iron tub.
Dating to 1929, this historic Gothic Revival building features an intricately designed facade and a grand lobby with artful stained glass windows and dark wood accents. There is a full-time doorman and on-site amenities include a roof deck with stunning Midtown views, a garden, fitness room, laundry room, bike room and common storage. Pied-a-terres, gifting and guarantors are allowed. The apartment’s ideal setting is around the corner from the United Nations building, with the Midtown office district and vibrant restaurant scene of First and Second Avenues steps away, and nearby Grand Central Station providing rapid transportation anywhere in New York.

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
