Property Description for 135 Prospect Park Southwest, B-9

Soft warm light covers every square inch of this large and charming pre-war corner apartment in the center of Windsor Terrace. Located in one of the most desirable art-deco elevator buildings on the park, this oversized two bedroom apartment features grand and gracious rooms with abundant closet space and classic pre-war detail. Both bedrooms are sweeping in size with more than enough space for multiple kiddos, parents or overnight guests. The lovely light filled, updated eat-in kitchen opens up to the large south facing living room and features stainless steel appliances and plenty of cabinet space. The bathroom has been completely renovated with a modern twist on the pre-war aesthetic and features a stunning jet-black hexagon floor and open linen closet. Facing the side of the building, this lovely gem offers the best of both worlds -- you can still peep the park but not get blown away by street noise. The building is pet-friendly so Spot will feel right at home and being across the street from Vanderbilt playground and everything else in Prospect Park offers too many advantages to mention. Forget your car because everything you need is in walking distance: shopping, award winning restaurants such as Krupa and Butterfunk Kitchen, coffee bars and the famous Nitehawk cinema coming soon. See you at the first open house Sunday, June 24th.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
