Property Description for 416 Washington Street, 2-J

This loft-like condo in central Tribeca has it all, and in pristine condition. It is a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home, spread across almost 2000 square feet. The living room and two bedrooms open out to an expansive landscaped terrace that's over 530 square-feet.

The space lends itself as wonderfully to entertaining as it does to daily living due to its excellent layout. The great room has soaring 10-foot ceilings and elegant glass doors to the terrace. This loft's layout features an open state-of-the-art kitchen, dining area, and living room. The kitchen is bursting with top-of-the-line appliances, including Subzero refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, Bosch oven, and Miele stovetop. Appliances also include a GE vented, stacked washer/dryer, Subzero wine fridge, and Miele microwave, all inconspicuously tucked away in custom designed closets.

The MBR and BR2 have 10 foot ceilings and each has its own custom-renovated, ensuite bathroom outfitted with Kohler and Duravit fixtures. The master bedroom has two closets, one being a huge walk-in closet, as well as built-in desk and cabinetry. The luxurious master bathroom boasts double sinks, a large soaking tub, and modern glass shower stall with rainfall and handheld fixtures.

The third bedroom/home office is currently used as a nursery. It has southern exposure and built-in custom-fitted closets. The powder room, which is accessible from the entryway, was also just renovated. Nest-powered central air conditioning and heating maintain the climate, but the true atmosphere comes from this apartment's integrated, professionally-wired sound system. As well, there are generous closets distributed throughout the apartment, all of which are custom-fitted for maximum storage.

Perhaps the most breathtaking feature of this chic Tribeca home is its 539-square foot private landscaped terrace, perfect for outdoor entertaining or to just enjoy a quiet cup of coffee. Ample space inside and out make apartment 2J the place to live in high style.

River Lofts is a two-building warehouse conversion at the corner of Washington and Laight in Tribeca by the riverfront. Adjacent Hudson River Park and Esplanade boast some of the City's premier waterfront green space, and the streets surrounding River Lofts are home to many of New York's hottest dining, shopping, and cultural destinations.

Amenities include 24-hour concierge, state-of-the-art fitness center, full-time superintendent, bicycle room, and direct elevator access to the building's discreet, indoor garage.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
