Property Description for 444 East 52nd Street, 6-E

Curl up in comfort near the river's edge, the cul de sac where you will find this apartment is in rare form. It is prime living near the water where residents enjoy river views in addition to the niceties of Midtown East - nearby subways, culture, convenience. The building is buttressed by the architectural beauty of its neighbors and therefore requires its own impeccable maintenance. Owners enjoy fine, old-world detail throughout the building, laundry, elevators and tireless doormen. This unit sports over 650 sf of floor area on the 6th fl, peek-a-boo river views, and a generous foyer. Antique qualities be damned, there is no more fitting place than such a well-kept building as 444 East 52nd St. 75% financing is allowed, but showings on weekends are not. Numerous opportunities to view the space are available on weekdays however.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
