Property Description for 2 Beekman Place, 3-B

Upon entering this beautiful triple-mint condition apartment, one is greeted though a gracious foyer. This well-appointed home offers 9-foot, beamed ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors and three custom designed closets, one of which is a walk-in. This residence was recently renovated and features a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including a Bertazzoni oven, Zephyr stove, GE Monogram dishwasher, Blomberg fridge/freezer, custom cabinets and granite countertops. Additionally, there is a stunning and contemporary full marble bath with a private dressing room/walk-in closet. There is a small bedroom with a large window across the entire wall. There are extra large, European turn and tilt windows that face east over Beekman Place with a picturesque tree-line view and a little peek-a-boo view of the river.

2 Beekman is a white-glove pre-war cooperative with a particularly friendly and attentive staff. The Art Deco building was built in 1932 and designed by the renowned Rosario Candela. Located on the elite and quiet Beekman Place, it is within walking distance of midtown Manhattan. The building is meticulously maintained with amenities including a private storage bin that comes with each apartment, a 24-hour doorman and elevator operator, a live-in super, recently renovated laundry facility, building-wide Culligan water filtration system, Time Warner cable bulk-billing arrangement, and a fantastic roof deck with beautiful city and river views. Pets and pieds-a-terre are permitted.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
