Property Description for 470 West 24th Street, 10-E

Completely renovated with top of the line everything, this high floor pre-war one-bedroom apartment has been masterfully redesigned to create a contemporary home with generous living and entertaining space.

A carefully thought out architectural plan provides the perfect sense of flow in this well-proportioned home. A large entry foyer leads down the hallway into an expansive living room with open chef’s kitchen. The open kitchen with large center island may be the focal point of the apartment and is outfitted with custom zebrawood cabinetry, fully integrated Fisher & Paykel dishwasher and European stainless steel appliances, and topped off with polished Italian Marmara white marble countertops. There is an oversized master bedroom suite with room for a sitting area and the bathroom by Philippe Starck for Duravit is exquisite.

The entire apartment enjoys unobstructed light and open views of the city skyline to the North, including the soon to be completed Hudson Yards, which will have several supertall glass skyscrapers. Beautiful hardwood strip flooring, 9’ beamed ceilings, through-the-wall air conditioning, custom built-in cabinetry, an abundance of closet space (including 2 double deep closets), multiple prewired media outlets, and designer light fixtures complete this sophisticated home.

You’ll enjoy everything this vibrant & highly desirable West Chelsea neighborhood has to offer – London Terrace Towers is only steps away from the High Line, Hudson River Park, Chelsea Piers, the new Whitney Museum, Chelsea Market, and a host of world renowned galleries, boutiques, and restaurants.

London Terrace Towers, built in 1929, is one of the most iconic prewar cooperative buildings in Manhattan. Shareholders have access to an unparalleled array of amenities, including, full-time doorman, private health club with sauna & steam rooms, natatorium with 5-lane heated swimming pool, bicycle, storage, and central laundry rooms, a block-wide planted interior garden, and a roof deck that features some of the best water & city views in Manhattan.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
