Property Description for 56 Leonard Street, 23-WEST

Expansive Half-Floor Opportunity at 56 Leonard, a Herzog & de Meuron Masterpiece. The combination of 23AWest and 23BWest results in a 4 or 5 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom, 3,943 SF apartment plan, with four terraces and South, West, and North exposures that capture views of the Freedom Tower, Hudson River, and the Manhattan skyline.

One of the proposed floor plans presents a corner 44’ x 21’ living room with two private balconies, ideal for entertaining and taking in the view. The 32' x 14' master bedroom offers exceptional views of the Freedom Tower and downtown Manhattan. Three additional bedrooms are as large as a typical master, and each have an en-suite bathroom. With 11’ ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, this half-floor opportunity creates every possibility for large-scale entertaining and private home living.

Developed by Alexico Group, 56 Leonard is a 60 story cantilevered, glass skyscraper in prime Tribeca. The Pritzker-prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron designed this unique tower to stretch above New York City, and will, upon completion, boast an original Anish Kapoor base sculpture. 56 Leonard has on-site parking and 17,000 square feet of amenities spread over two levels. The 75’ lap pool and sundeck, fitness center, treatment room, sauna, steam room, library lounge, indoor/outdoor screening room, private dining room, multiple terraces, and playroom are all linked together by an amazing, spiral, poured-concrete staircase that embodies modern design. Now a global landmark and signature of the New York skyline, 56 Leonard is a marvel--a perfect marriage of engineering and design that only a select few can call home.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
