Property Description for 225 Fifth Ave, 3-J

Never before has this Madison Square Park apartment with over 37 feet of frontage facing south and west directly facing the park been available for sale. This sophisticated home with its unique decorative metal window balustrades has been meticulously renovated and designed in a classic, contemporary style.

Enter into a gracious gallery that welcomes you home: a hall leads to the expansive living/entertaining space with four large windows that embrace the changing seasonal landscape: fall, winter, spring and summer all have their own charms and the light is superb all year round. Gleaming ebony infused Oak wood floors and 10ft ceilings along with some floating walls feature throughout, making this an extremely dramatic place to entertain or simply enjoy your coffee. An open Poggenpohl chef’s kitchen with stone counters has been upgraded with additional custom millwork, with integrated Wolf, Viking and Bosch appliances. A sophisticated lighting system has been installed throughout the apartment, partially embedded into the ceiling, and perfectly suited for illuminating the multiple walls, perfectly suited for an important art collection.

A separated hallway leads to the bedroom wing that currently comprises a Master Suite and a second bedroom. The third bedroom has been opened up to the living room as a media room, but is easily restored back to its original intent. The master bedroom retreat has an en-suite marble bathroom, with double vanities, a large glass shower an substantive closets. The generously scaled second bedroom has gorgeous views towards the historically landmarked buildings of Fifth Avenue with a marble bathroom across the hall. There is a laundry closet with washer/dryer and a powder room too. If that is not enough, the apartment comes with an on-floor storage room that acts like your own city garage. The apartment is outfitted with speakers throughout as well as electronic 2-layer shades and a sophisticated lighting system

NoMad | Manhattan

Quick Profile

NoMad, North of Madison Square Park, is a rectangular swath of land that is bordered by East 25th Street to the south, East 29th Street to the north, Sixth Avenue to the west, and depending who you ask, Madison or Lexington Avenue to the East. It’s had its acronymed name for over two decades but not every New Yorker calls the neighborhood NoMad.

Historic architecture, trendy hotels and restaurants and high-priced apartments - NoMad wasn’t always the coveted neighborhood that it is today. It’s gone through many transformations over the years. Including a red light district known as the Tenderloin in the 1880’s. It was a popular shopping destination and a place where high society held court in the mid 19th century. It was part of New York City’s Silicon Alley in the 1990’s.

As of lately, world class chefs and restaurants have moved into NoMad. It’s tied with Midtown Manhattan for having the most Michelin stars (six stars to date). Besides NoMad’s architecture, nightlife, and restaurants, we can’t forget the added perk of being close to other great neighborhoods and cultural institutions. NoMad’s central location makes it easier to get just about anywhere in the city. You can walk to Chelsea, West Village, Union Square or Grand Central Station in no time at all. The N, R, 1, 6, B, Q, F, and M are very close or just a few blocks away. Penn Station is also within walking distance.
