Property Description for 150 West 26th Street, 802

Simply stunning. This meticulously crafted two bedroom two and one half bath loft spans over 1750'. Here's an exuberant wide-open space in which true loft authenticity meets top of the line finishes throughout. A newly imagined open kitchen of professional proportions forms the centerpiece of this grand home. It is certainly among the largest and most fully and professionally equipped kitchens you'll see, and features such wish-list choices as Aster Cucine cabinetry, Caesarstone and stainless steel countertops, two Thermador Star Sapphire dishwashers, a 48" Thermador Grand Professional gas range (double oven with 6 burners and griddle/grill plate), and a 48" SubZero refrigerator. The extensive bar area adjoins and includes full size Eurocave wine refrigeration, as well as a separate under counter SubZero beverage refrigerator and ice maker. The Miele washer and dryer are out of sight in the extensive storage area. Beautiful matte finished wide plank bias oak floors grace the entire home, and there is custom audio throughout. The master suite features custom-outfitted closets as well as a spa-scaled bath with top-of-the-line fixtures. The large second bedroom includes an en-suite bath finished in a unique vintage-modern style all its own. The additional powder room is yet another bonus. Other unique items include custom cabinetry and tasteful use of steel and glass. Six foot-plus windows facing north and west draw beautiful light. Central A/C connects to the building's high capacity cooling tower. This extraordinary home is located one floor from the top of The Mihl Building, a former fur vault built in 1923 and converted to live/work condominium ownership in 2004. This 25-unit building features a beautiful common roof garden with grill, plus a multi-camera state-of-the-art security system. Passenger elevators were recently fully renovated, and a building manager is on-site Monday through Friday to handle deliveries. The vibrant Chelsea location is superb - chose Whole Foods at one end of the block, or Fairway at the other, and from among numerous dining and entertainment venues just steps away. And of course, multiple subway lines are right nearby. Added plus - Penn station is close enough to quickly connect you to Long Island, New Jersey, or JFK and Newark airports, but far enough to enjoy the quiet serenity of the block and neighborhood. Also available for lease at $8495 per month.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
