Property Description for 125 East 4th Street, 7

Just one flight up, this chic, smartly designed convertible 2 Bedroom home is an uncommon find. In mint condition, the space impresses the moment you enter with an entrance foyer and a gallery-like hallway that naturally transitions to an Open Kitchen and Living Space. Entering the windowed kitchen, one can see it is separate, open, spacious and beautifully renovated. It includes Corian counter tops, a tiled backsplash, and stainless steel Miele appliances. What's more there are versatile, slide out work tables that hide away after use. Moving to the Living Space the current layout offers a separate private dining room adjacent to a gracious Living Room. The rooms are connected by striking original French doors and moldings with built in bookcases. You even have the added touch of charming custom window seating in the Living Room. The entire layout is accented by dimmer lighting, 9 foot ceilings, space saving custom pocket doors and gorgeous natural white wash hard wood floors throughout. This combination of Kitchen, Dining and Living rooms makes for great versatility for everyday living and entertaining. And the home's exposure highlights the unique floor plan, framed by 4 large windows with south tree level light giving you a bright natural view all day. In addition, you have a conveniently located full bathroom that boasts built in storage, beautiful limestone, a Zuma whirlpool tub, a frosted glass backsplash and a beautifully designed shower. Currently set up as a one bedroom, the apartment features split bedrooms with one currently being used as a walk-in-closet, but the many versatile rooms can be configured in a way that suits you best. This exquisite home is made complete by being part of a pre war, pet friendly boutique co-op offering a live in porter, laundry room, a bike room and storage. All of this in a convenient East Village location steps from fine dining and transportation including the F, 6, N and R trains. Co-purchasing and pied a terres are case by case. Sorry, no subletting. East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
