Property Description for 794 Hart Street, 4-B

Architecturally unique and radiating a warm and welcoming HOME like quality, this quiet two bedroom, two bathroom duplex condo unit at the Knick is memorable in every conceivable way. It is not often that one can find 1143 square feet of LOFT like living space along with 370 square feet of outdoor space plus a separately deeded parking spot! Its ambient lower floor is highlighted by arched windows that frame skyline views of Manhattan including straight on views of the iconic Empire State Building. The visual play of this wall of windows with an adjacent white washed exposed brick one is quite striking and timeless. Also on this level, with its oak hardwood flooring, is a beautifully appointed working kitchen with its stainless country kitchen sink, stainless Energy Star GE appliances, lots of counter space and minimalist contemporary cabinetry. There's also a dedicated closet for the washer/dryer and a generously sized bedroom with an adjacent full bath. Upstairs, the light filled oversized master bedroom, with its chic windowed ensuite bathroom, is highlighted by 14 foot soaring ceiling height and oversized windows and glass doors that open out onto the enormous and breathtaking private terrace with all-encompassing and truly amazing views. This will be your PERFECT place to just relax or entertain family and friends. The Knick is a historic building with 49 converted loft condominium units in the heart of thriving and trendy Bushwick with easy access to Manhattan, just two blocks from either the L and M train lines. The condo has central air conditioning and heating with exposed duct work and custom oversized closets. Common elements at the Knick include virtual doorman, bike storage on a monthly rental basis, an exercise room, two common roof decks and storage cages for sale when available. Pets OK. Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
