Property Description for 225 East 57th Street, 17-FG

THREE BEDROOM/CONVERTIBLE FOUR + HOME OFFICE!

FIRST TIME EVER OFFERED! This spacious, approximately 2030sf, 3-bedroom, 3 bath home is newly renovated, airy and bright and has flexible space offering a multitude of options for easy living, including creation of separate bedroom and living/entertaining wings. All of the rooms are oversized with open city views.

The open layout with a wonderful flow features a brand new, windowed, open chef's kitchen with custom cabinets and top of the line Thermador appliances. There are three exquisitely renovated baths as well. Your new home has been rewired and re-plumbed. Lots of closets and storage. Spanning nearly 52' North to South, both sides are finished with lovely wide planted terraces totaling over 200sf, each large enough to accommodate a table and chairs. The apartment has a smart floorplan that can be converted to four large bedrooms with board approval. Separate home office as well. A rare find.

In a perfect midtown location, the Harridge House is a hidden gem on the famous 57th Street corridor, in the heart of Manhattan's design district, steps from Bloomingdales, across from Whole Foods, around the block from PS 59 and the High School of Art & Design and convenient to all public transport. The neighborhood has the best that Manhattan has to offer -- great restaurants, wine bars and coffee shops and wonderful shopping abound. Blocks away from Sutton Place and the East River and world class shopping of 5th Avenue. Easy access to Central Park, the theatre district and the Upper Eastside.

Harridge House is a full-service co-op with a lovely renovated lobby and open, elegant, wide hallways, full-time doormen, live-in superintendent, two newly renovated laundry rooms (new, building-owned machines), bike racks, storage room, a roof deck and direct building access to a commercial garage.

Maintenance includes all utilities and electricity including a/c (with a building-wide new HVAC system).

Pied-a-terres welcomed. (Sorry, no dogs.)

Midtown East | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Midtown West and Midtown East have a lot in common. They’re bustling, iconic, and full of people. But just like siblings, their personalities can be vastly different. Midtown East is a bit more sophisticated and doesn’t quite have the vivacity and unruliness that its westerly counterpart exudes.

Midtown East is bordered by 42nd to the south, 59th Street to the north, 5th Avenue to the west, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

The neighborhood is famous for its high-end stores, tourist attractions, posh hotels (budget ones too), and iconic architecture. Midtown East is also one of the largest financial and business hubs in Manhattan. During normal business hours the sidewalks are full of commuters and people moving from point A to point B. In the early evening, when the masses have left for the day, things suddenly get a little quieter and the sidewalks have a lot less foot traffic.

Although largely a commercial neighborhood, residential areas of Midtown East do exist on the eastern section of the neighborhood.

Grand Central Station is located in Midtown East and like Midtown West, it’s an extremely commutable neighborhood. The 4, 5, 6, 7 and S trains whisk people in and out of the neighborhood 24 hours a day. Grand Central Station also serves as a hub for New York State and Connecticut commuter rails. These trains can take you anywhere along the Hudson River or up into Connecticut. It’s perfect for day tripping.
