Property Description for 465 Park Ave, 8-B

Highly desired and rarely available, the B line apartments are the Ritz's primary, signature line apartments --- five and one half beautifully proportioned rooms on the building's southwest corner. Apartment 8 B exhibits a most elegant and practical floor plan - perfect for sophisticated entertaining and gracious living. It features large scale rooms off a dramatic front hall entrance gallery, high ceilings, large and abundant closets, and maximum separation between public and private space. The apartment is on a high floor with wonderful city views of mid-town Manhattan and is imbued with the warm glow of constant sun. Although in need of refurbishing and renovation, the apartment has a glamorous and storied past -- in years gone by, it was the after hours destination and gathering place for many notable show business luminaries of the 50's and 60's who gathered here to relax and unwind after their Broadway shows and live TV performances, especially on the Emmy & Tony award evenings. Within the tranquil interior, listen closely and perhaps you will hear the murmur of voices from the cast of TV's longest running panel show, 'What's My Line?', who assembled here almost weekly. In addition to the apartment's lovely aesthetics, a superlative financial benefit to ownership of 'only this particular apartment' consists in monthly maintenance charges that are dramatically lower than those of similar apartments in this line due to a disproportionately low share apportionment in the original incorporation. Importantly, these lower fees are guaranteed to convey in perpetuity! The 'Ritz' is in the top tier of New York's most distinguished & luxurious cooperatives. Refined & elegant, the Ritz Tower is impeccably managed & maintained and offers the very highest level of amenity & service among New York's top ranked illustrious prewar buildings -- including room & restaurant service (award winning chef!), 24 hour concierge, manned elevators, room service, maid & valet service, fitness club. Located at the crossroads of Manhattan's sophisticated Eastside, close to Manhattan's most fashionable shops, restaurants and boutiques. Corporate and trust purchasers permitted; foreign purchasers welcome! Dogs allowed with board approval!.

Midtown East | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Midtown West and Midtown East have a lot in common. They’re bustling, iconic, and full of people. But just like siblings, their personalities can be vastly different. Midtown East is a bit more sophisticated and doesn’t quite have the vivacity and unruliness that its westerly counterpart exudes.

Midtown East is bordered by 42nd to the south, 59th Street to the north, 5th Avenue to the west, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

The neighborhood is famous for its high-end stores, tourist attractions, posh hotels (budget ones too), and iconic architecture. Midtown East is also one of the largest financial and business hubs in Manhattan. During normal business hours the sidewalks are full of commuters and people moving from point A to point B. In the early evening, when the masses have left for the day, things suddenly get a little quieter and the sidewalks have a lot less foot traffic.

Although largely a commercial neighborhood, residential areas of Midtown East do exist on the eastern section of the neighborhood.

Grand Central Station is located in Midtown East and like Midtown West, it’s an extremely commutable neighborhood. The 4, 5, 6, 7 and S trains whisk people in and out of the neighborhood 24 hours a day. Grand Central Station also serves as a hub for New York State and Connecticut commuter rails. These trains can take you anywhere along the Hudson River or up into Connecticut. It’s perfect for day tripping.
