Property Description for 79 Worth Street, 5-F

This is the home that people picture when they think of living in Tribeca! The glamorous two-bedroom condo exemplifies loft-living at its best in a converted textile factory! Soaring 16' ceilings, stunning renovations, large open rooms, beautiful hardwood floors and custom built-ins. But it's the huge, private rooftop terrace with views of several iconic landmarks including the Empire State Building that really makes it special! You will be in awe of the 40' grand room with separate and designated areas for the living room, dining room, and kitchen, which make it feel intimate and perfect for comfortable entertaining. There is even an oversized skylight to complement the big windows facing south. A highlight of the room is the custom wallpaper in the dining area designed by renowned NY-based British artist Paul Etienne Lincoln and inspired by an 18th Century European etching. Other designer details abound throughout the home including custom-designed doors, lighting fixtures, moldings, and kitchen cabinets with top-of-the-line hardware; plus a stunning floor-to-ceiling built-in bookcase in the living room crafted by a master millworker, and a special 1920's art-deco pendant light fixture in the stairwell. The heart of the home is the kitchen featuring a colorful glass tile backsplash, Eurostone counter tops, Kohler cast iron sink, and high-end appliances: Subzero refrigerator, Viking stove (that vents out), Viking microwave, wine fridge, and Bosch dishwasher. A large island provides additional storage and prep area. Best of all is the full-size stackable washer & dryer conveniently tucked away behind custom doors. The master bedroom is a romantic escape with wood-burning fireplace and en-suite bathroom with a glass shower and soaking tub. Fabulous custom double-height closets provide a happy refuge for your wardrobe, while the restored original hardwood floors add unique character. There is also a sizeable second bedroom on the main floor as well as a second full bathroom, while the penthouse level upstairs boasts a room with views of the terrace. The penthouse room makes for a charming guest room or home office. Another highlight in the apartment is central A/C. Industrial-chic, the Tribeca Lofts are three landmarked buildings magnificently restored in the heart of Tribeca's historic district, located near most of the subways and convenient to many retail destinations and restaurants. Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
