Property Description for 112 Nevins Street

Widely considered one of the most charming buildings in all of Boerum Hill, 112 Nevins Street offers a rare combination of rustic and contemporary beauty situated in the most perfect of neighborhoods. Chic and very manageable, this renovated mint condition centrally air conditioned home is also THE smart alternative to the purchase of a luxury condo. Its spectacular main floor is highlighted with a professional grade chef's country kitchen with a six burner Blue Star range, Viking refrigerator, butcher block counters, impeccable subway tiling and perfectly imagined custom cabinetry. Its kitchen and the adjacent living and dining areas have timeless 12" wide board pine flooring running throughout and in visual genius, contrast powerfully with a modernist hand forged steel and wood stairway that leads to the upper and lower levels. This wondrous space is illuminated by natural light that flows through a wall of custom full view windows that reveal the gem like, private garden just beyond. Upstairs is the master bedroom suite with a skylight lit transcendent spa bath highlighted by Renaissance inspired Bisazza tiles and a shimmering wall of semi-transparent glass. There's also a classic double sink with Samuel Heath fixtures. Truly unforgettable! On this floor as well is a wonderfully sized windowed room, perfect for use as a dressing room, office or even a baby's room. The "secret" hatch door springing down from the bedroom ceiling opens up to reveal a custom stairway that leads up to a wonderful roof deck overlooking the gardens below and serves as perfect place to relax and entertain. The townhouse's enchanting lower level, made private and quiet with a sliding door system as one descends the stairway, is perfect for use as a second bedroom or as a living area. It's beautifully designed with exposed wood beams, a recessed picture window, radiant heated floors and is highlighted by a brand new and spectacularly tiled full bathroom with a pristine glass enclosure. On this lower level is also a separate laundry and storage room.112 Nevins offers a very unique opportunity to own a very private and land-marked townhouse in THE quintessential Brooklyn neighborhood while having ALL transportation (2,3,4,5,A,C,F,G,D,B,N,R,LIRR) nearby. Do not wait on this one!

Boerum Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Boerum Hill is a tiny, quiet, primarily residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. There are broad tree-lined streets that are filled with elegant three and four-story brownstones and townhouses, mostly built between 1840 and 1870. There is a definite family vibe to the neighborhood, but young professionals are moving in, and with them are coming trendy bars to cater to their desire for some measure of nightlife, without having to linger in Manhattan. These new bars and restaurants are being sandwiched in amongst existing shops on both Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, which are the main commercial areas in Boerum Hill.

Boerum Hill offers a convenient location that is still able to maintain its small-neighborhood feel. Shopkeepers value their customers and remember their regulars. It continues to do what it was designed to do, namely provide small-town living in the very shadow of the big city. Boerum Hill is an easy commute to other parts of the city, making it easy to come home every day to the peace and tranquility of Boerum Hill while commuting to a job anywhere in the city.

The neighborhood is quite walkable and you can take the time to catch up with your neighbors while visiting on their stoops. Shopping on Atlantic Avenue is stress-free with no high pressure. You can meet with friends at any of the many coffee shops and while away pleasant hours in conversation. The dining scene on Smith Street is similarly laid-back. Don’t expect that there will be quite as much to see or do as there is in Manhattan, but there are a decent number of interesting bars and restaurants providing a measure of nightlife. The trade-off is worth it, as Boerum Hill provides a quiet, peaceful place to live and raise a family.
