Property Description for 180 West 58th Street, 4-B

Sophistication abounds in this luxurious one bedroom/two bathroom home that has been fully renovated with meticulous attention to designer details and historical prewar charm. A grand space with 10.5' ceilings, it is not your typical one bedroom apartment. The rooms are very large and the layout provides for comfortable living and entertaining. Bathed in soothing light from over-sized windows with double exposures facing east and south, the elegant living room is the heart and sole of the home accented with specialty lighting near the ceiling. Cooking is a pleasure in the beautiful kitchen with a big picture window. This culinary delight is cleverly renovated with custom cabinets, unique granite counter tops and matching floor tiles, dramatic ceramic tile backsplash, and high-end stainless steel appliances: GE Profile refrigerator, dishwasher, and Viking stove top and oven. Opposite the kitchen is a dining gallery that easily accommodates a formal table and features stunning handcrafted custom floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. A peaceful retreat , the bedroom is quite spacious with an en-suite bathroom and an adjoining dressing room - the kind of space every fashionable New Yorker dreams of having for their wardrobe! The second full bathroom has a spa-like quality and is conveniently situated near the bedroom. Other notable features of the home include ornate moldings, plenty of wall space for displaying fine art, original and restored hardwood floors, thru-wall A/C's in every room, and City Silence windows throughout. Additionally, a storage unit (approx. 5'x8'x10.5') transfers with the apartment. Built in 1908 and designed in the French Renaissance style by the architectural firm of Harde & Short, Alwyn Court opened in 1910 and is still one of the city's most celebrated buildings. Known for impeccable, white-glove service and located just one block from Central Park, the full-service building with 24-hour doorman is conveniently located near Carnegie Hall and many popular restaurants and retail destinations like Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle. Other building amenities include a bike room, central laundry room, and pet-friendly attitude. Pied-a-terres allowed. Experience this piece of history for yourself!

Midtown West | Manhattan

Quick Profile

People, yellow cabs, bright lights, big crowds, 24-hour eateries and just about every type of store imaginable. it’s a frenetic buzz that only a few places on the globe can offer. And that’s just one part of it. Midtown West is the birthplace of hustle and bustle and it’s bordered by 42nd to the south, 59th Street to the north, 8th Avenue to the west, and 5th Avenue to the east.

Midtown West is not as residential as other neighborhoods in Manhattan. The bustling part of Midtown West is 42nd Street between Times Square and 8th Avenues where the retail and office space, theatres, and attractions are. No matter what time of day it is, you'll always find activity there.

Residential buildings lay near the western end of Midtown West beginning around 8th Avenue.

Location, location, location. Of all the neighborhoods and enclaves of Manhattan, Midtown West is perhaps the most commutable place to live, visit, or work. It contains one of the highest concentrations of subway lines in the Big Apple. A, C, E, N, Q, R, 1, 2, 3, and the 7 train. The transit system feeds the streets with commuters from everywhere. The Port Authority Bus Terminal and nearby Penn Station adds to the number of people that flood Midtown on any given day.

It’s one of the easiest places in all of Manhattan to navigate because it’s a true grid. Uptown, street numbers go up. Downtown, street numbers go down. It’s the same concept from east to west. You really can’t get lost in Midtown West.
