Property Description for 420 East 51st Street, 6-C

A 2 bed/2 bath home in a full service building in Midtown East for as little as a $120,000 down payment? Yes - the monthly carrying charges are higher than in other buildings, but that's reflected in the great asking price for this 1,187 square foot property. Southern exposure bathes all this home's rooms in great daylight year round. Entry foyer, separate area for dining, and updated windowed kitchen w/ stainless steel appliances. Master bedroom suite has its own bathroom, & foyer/entry way. Both bathrooms are in very good condition. This home is pin drop quiet, has plenty of closet space, including a walk in coat closet. A full service building on a quiet tree lined street the Morad is close to public transit & most of midtown's offices and businesses. Building has a garage, private storage, including a separate area for bicycles. Stunning roof deck. Co-purchasing and pieds-a-terre are OK, and pets are welcome, including dogs! In a rarity for co-ops there is NO flip tax, & washers/dryers are allowed in owners' units, subject to board approval. Close to great neighborhood restaurants, shops, and nightspots. Monthly assessment of $376.95 in place through April of 2020 for capital improvements.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
