Property Description for 224 East 11th Street, 22

You will be glad you came to the top floor of this central East Village walk-up to see this charming, 4-room oasis. Quiet, airy and bright with high ceilings, and newly renovated, this home includes new floors, an updated bathroom and upgrades to the kitchen, including new cabinets. The Eat in kitchen is spacious, has butcher block counters, a dishwasher, AND a washer with a separate dryer, so you won't need to leave your home to do laundry. The den can be used as a home office, and even a guest bedroom.

Feeling more like it's located in a peaceful European town than smack in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world, this tranquil home overlooks the garden of one of Manhattan's oldest places of worship, St. Marks in the Square, its idyllic church bells ringing softly throughout the day. Yet step outside the building's front door and you're at the crossroads where the East Village meets Greenwich Village. You're minutes from Union Square, NYU, close to the neighborhood's best stores, restaurants and nightspots, as well as some of the New York's most storied places for entertainment and live music.

This home is one of those East Village gems that you'll be glad you gave yourself the opportunity to see. And maybe even call home. First viewing is at the Open House on Sunday, May 31st. Co-Purchasing is OK and so are pets, but sorry, no dogs.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
