Property Description for 860 United Nations Plaza, 31/32E

Now under $675 per square foot, create a 4,000 square foot dream home! This corner duplex home has 5 bedrooms and 5 baths with breathtaking open views of the city, skyline, River and United Nations. This home is ready to customize and create a one-of-a-kind, spectacular NYC home. Priced to accommodate a complete renovation that meets the layout and style needs of the new owner while still far less than the same space in a brand new building in the area. One of the most regarded addresses, 860 United Nations Plaza was built at the height of the international style and offers every resident white glove services and amenities. New developments have tried to capture the cache of the building when it was built but cannot offer the scale, space, elegance and light of these remarkable grand homes. Will be best price in the building inclusive of a high end renovation! The sun-filled duplex apartment on the 31st and 32nd floors was originally designed as an 8-room home with a contained elevator, floor to ceiling windows, two corner rooms, high ceilings and panoramic open views from every room. The elegance of the era is reflected in the very spacious open foyer, circular stairway, wood-burning fireplace with Art Deco mantle, expansive formal rooms including a 32 corner living room, huge eat-in kitchen and pantry, 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms offering each bedroom an en-suite bath and space for an exceptional amount of storage throughout. Buyer pays 3% flip tax.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
