Property Description for 250 MacDougal Street, 2

Loft Vibes
Sunshine and freedom were the inspiration for this newly renovated 3 Bedroom / 1 Bathroom apartment in the Ocean Hill section of Bedford Stuyvesant. As you enter the parlor level and your private staircase to the upper unit, you'll be greeted by pure light coming through the skylight. At the top of the steps you'll find the large open-plan living room and dining room also bathed in sunlight. To the right, you have king and full sized bedrooms. On the left, you'll find a newly renovated bathroom, a windowed kitchen, as well as a third bedroom that fits a queen bed. Hardwood floors throughout, ample wall space for art, and sunlight from three exposures makes decorating this apartment a pure delight.
250 MacDougal Street is an easy 3 blocks to the A/C train at Rockaway Ave or the J/Z trains at Chauncey St. Also nearby are Thomas Boyland Park, Broadway Junction, and Phoenix Community Garden (if you want to test your your green thumb). Close proximity to Broadway gives you access to all of the usual services like banks, dry cleaners, supermarkets, salons and shopping. The bar and restaurant scene on this side of town is percolating. Currently, you'll find Bed Stuy Fish Fry, Daily Press, Three Seven Sisters, Delhi Heights, Manny's, Chez Oskar and many more. New hot spots seem to pop up every day!

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
